United Airlines Announces Elimination of Change Fees

United Airlines announced yesterday it will eliminate change fees effective immediately.  This new policy is for travel within the U.S., Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands and does not include International and Basic Economy fares.  Other COVID waivers are in place through December 31, 2020, which may eliminate the change fee for International and Basic Economy fares. 

Also announced, United Airlines will allow travelers to make same-day standby changes – this policy will begin January 1, 2021.

Travel One expects other airlines will follow suit and we will monitor this situation.
