US airlines are staffing up ahead of expected high demand this holiday season, says Airlines for America CEO and President Nicholas Calio. “They’ve adjusted their schedules, they’ve been on hiring binges, on putting people in the right places that we hope will be at the right time,” Calio explains.

Delta Air Lines is offering free Wi-Fi on many flights for SkyMiles members. “We want Wi-Fi to be exactly the same for you at 35,000 feet up as it is on the ground for our customers,” said Delta Chief Customer Experience Officer Allison Ausband.

$7.1B Expansion Approved for Chicago’s O’Hare Airport (Source: Chicago Sun-Times)
O’Hare International Airport got the official federal go-ahead Monday for a $7.1 billion project to replace Terminal 2 with a “global terminal” intended to link domestic and international flights in one location.  U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Mayor Lori Lightfoot and other dignitaries announced that the Federal Aviation Administration had completed a four-year environmental study paving the way for the project.

New Opening: Cambria Hotel Minneapolis Downtown (Source: Travel Market Report)
Cambria Hotels this week celebrated the opening of its newest Twin Cities hotel, Cambria Hotel Minneapolis Downtown.  The hotel is the third Cambria Hotel in Minneapolis, joining Cambria Hotel Minneapolis Maple Grove and Cambria Hotel Bloomington Mall of America Minneapolis Airport. It adds 121 rooms, across six stories, to the city’s downtown, not far from Target Field, the city’s First Avenue music venus, SPS Tower, and the University of Minnesota campus.
