FINAL UPDATE – Status Of Minnesota Driver’s License And REAL ID |
This past Friday, Secretary Jeh C. Johnson of the Department of Homeland Security announced that states not yet in compliance with the federal Real ID act (such as Minnesota) will have until January 22, 2018 to come into compliance. Essentially this provides those holding Minnesota drivers licenses the ability to continue to use them as identification for commercial air travel until that date or until the state legislature votes to allow the Department of Public Safety to make the necessary changes to Minnesota drivers licenses.
