Scandinavian Airlines Updates SkyTeam Timing As It Charts Its Path Out Of Bankruptcy (Source: The Points Guy)
Scandinavian Airlines, or SAS, is plotting its next steps as the airline prepares to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Part of that is looking forward to its departure from Star Alliance, which it co-founded 25 years ago, as it moves forward with new ownership and prepares to join SkyTeam.

Delta Air Lines Boosts January Flight Schedule (Source: Simple Flying)
Delta Air Lines is adding some 1,400 flights to its January scheduled, boosting capacity on about 20 routes. Most of the additional flights will take off from Delta’s hubs in Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta, Los Angeles, Minneapolis and Salt Lake City.

Hilton Worldwide plans to open 24 new hotels globally in 2024, including company debuts in Asia-Pacific and Europe, and brand debuts in the United States, the company announced last week.  Thanks to an “increasing number of business travelers” who traveled for meetings and events—alongside “more travelers than ever” stepping out in 2023—Hilton plans to build on that momentum with more than two dozen hotel openings next year across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific, the company said in a statement. 

New NYC Hotel Pays Tribute To Harlem’s Culture (Source: Travel Weekly)
The Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel has debuted in New York City and offers 211 guestrooms, a bar and lounge serving fusion fare and 9,000 square feet of event space. The new hotel, which is the brand’s fifth property in the city, honors the culture and artistic history of Harlem with artwork depicting Black musicians, including Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday and Cab Calloway.

A 15-year timeline and $176 billion investment are planned for the passenger rail line linking Boston, New York City and Washington, D.C. Updating a 2021 plan, the Northeast Corridor Commission’s latest outline includes infrastructure upgrades and an almost 100% increase in Amtrak trains between New York and Washington, 50% more Amtrak trains between Boston and New York and 60% more commuter trains serving regional transit services.
