Delta Air Lines has completed the second phase of its $2.3 billion infrastructure upgrade at Los Angeles International Airport with the opening of a new headhouse with upgraded check-in facilities, including self-service kiosks. “We’re building on our position as LAX’s leading premium global carrier and achieving yet another infrastructure milestone ahead of schedule – enabling an ever-elevated travel journey for our Los Angeles customers,” said Scott Santoro, vice president of global sales.

Its economy lie-flat seating concept is making waves, and now Air New Zealand is officially the airline of the year, at least according to Australia-based aviation safety and product rating agency AirlineRatings.com.  AirlineRatings.com cites AirNZ’s intriguing SkyNest economy beds – set to launch in 2024 – as one of the key factors determining its number one spot.

France Formally Bans Some Domestic Flights (Source: Business Travel News)
France has formally banned some short-haul domestic flights where there is an alternative train journey of less than two and a half hours.  The French government initially announced plans to prohibit internal flights on some routes as part of its Climate Law in 2021, but the policy was only given the green light by the European Commission in December 2022.
