US Approves Delta Partnership With airBaltic (Source: Simple Flying)
Delta Air Lines received US approval for a code sharing partnership with airBaltic, allowing Delta to sell flights under its own code on the regional carrier’s flights, offering convenient connections to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania as well as other European cities. The airlines plan to offer reciprocal frequent flyer benefits in the future.

Delta Air Lines Adds Winter Flights From Minneapolis (Source: The Business Journals)
Delta Air Lines is boosting its winter schedule from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The airline will fly from Minnesota to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, the Hawaiian island of Maui and Montego Bay, Jamaica, as well as Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and Belize City, Belize.

CLEAR Adds New Lanes At Tulsa International Airport (Source: Travel Market Report)
CLEAR is bringing its expedited security lanes to Tulsa International Airport.  The company announced the additions, which are now installed at the airport’s main terminal, on Wednesday, marking its 53rd airport overall including 9 of Tulsa’s top 10 domestic destinations.

Oakland International Airport is planning a major expansion that would add a new terminal building and 16 gates in a bid to increase traffic at the northern California airport that is already a center of cargo operations for UPS and FedEx. “We are the closest airport to most of the 7.7 million people that live in the San Francisco Bay Area,” said John Albrecht, a manager of aviation marketing and communications with the Port of Oakland.

Los Angeles Airports Ban Single-Use Plastic (Source: Simple Flying)
Los Angeles World Airports has banned single-use plastic water bottles at Los Angeles International Airport and its small facility in nearby Van Nuys, a policy that has been phased in over two years. Passengers are encouraged to bring refillable bottles and concessions are using alternatives such as paper and aluminum, but the ban does not apply to inflight service on aircraft.

San Diego Airport Unveils Retail Lineup For New Terminal (Source: TRBusiness Magazine)
San Diego International Airport has unveiled the list of retail and restaurant operations that will populate its new $3.4 billion Terminal 1 project, featuring a selection of regional and national brands. The terminal’s first 19 gates are scheduled to open in 2025, with 11 more being added by 2028.

Hotels

New Motto by Hilton Hotel To Open In Times Square (Source: Travel Market Report)
A new hotel from Hilton’s Motto by Hilton brand will open in New York City’s Times Square in August.  The 400-room tower is located on 48th Street, near some of Manhattan’s most famous tourist attractions, including dozens of Broadway theaters, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, The Guggenheim, Radio City Music Hall, and Rockefeller Center.

Charlotte-Area Hotel Undergoes Big Refresh, Becomes A DoubleTree (Source: MeetingsNet)
With 10,000 square feet of meeting space, the former Hilton Charlotte Executive Park is now flagged as a different Hilton brand.  Mid-June saw the rollout of a multi-million-dollar renovation and rebranding of a 181-room business-focused hotel in South Charlotte, located near the regional corporate offices for several financial and insurance firms as well as the global technology center for home-improvement giant Lowe’s.
