United Airlines’ corporate travel demand accelerated in the third quarter, particularly in September, executives said Wednesday on an earnings call. Chief commercial officer Andrew Nocella said that corporate demand acceleration in September occurred across all regions and is expected to continue into the fourth quarter.

Free onboard WiFi has become the latest battleground between the world’s leading airlines as the once expensive and unreliable service finally delivers quality comparable to being at home.  Delta, United, Japan Airlines, Air France and other global carriers have in recent weeks sought to outdo each other with competing announcements about the arrival or extension of onboard connectivity.

Delta is increasing connectivity to Europe with the addition of a brand-new nonstop service from its hub in Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) to Copenhagen (CPH) starting May 2025, operating three times weekly. With the addition of this new route, Delta will provide customers traveling from MSP nonstop access to seven European destinations .

Airport officials said Newark’s two-year-old, $2.7 billion Terminal A can serve as a template for what the whole airport could be.

Miami-Dade County’s legislative committee is reviewing a proposal to establish a new airport to support the county’s booming aviation sector. Mayor Daniella Levine Cava has 90 days to identify feasible locations and assess economic impacts. Options include expanding existing airports or revisiting the Dade-Collier site.

Salt Lake City’s historic Union Pacific Depot has been reborn as the Asher Adams Hotel, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. The station’s grand hall has become a spacious lobby and the hotel includes a New American restaurant, a whiskey-forward bar and a vinyl lounge with a curated selection of 2,500 records.

Epic Universe, the new theme park at Universal Orlando Resort, will officially open on May 22, 2025.  Some multiday tickets and packages will go on sale Oct. 22, the first phase of ticket sales for Epic Universe. Travel advisors will have access to sell tickets and packages at the same time as consumers, Universal said.
