Delta Air Lines earned an unprecedented 14th consecutive win as the top-rated carrier in BTN’s annual Airline Survey, which empowers travel buyers to rate their airline partners across 11 performance criteria. Southwest Airlines continued to close the gap with Delta. Alaska Airlines qualified for the first time in more than a decade.

American Airlines Expands Its Crackdown On Line-Cutters (Source: CNN)
American Airlines is expanding its new boarding technology that stops passengers from cutting in line during boarding to over 100 airports nationwide before Thanksgiving.  The airline has given the technology a test-run at Albuquerque International Sunport, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Tucson International Airport over the last month to fine-tune the process before a wider rollout.

Delta Air Lines has relaunched its SkyMiles Experiences platform to offer members more ways to use miles for unique events. The platform features five collections — Music and Film, Sports, Culinary, Wellness and Adventure, and Fashion, Art and Design — with experiences available for instant purchase or via bidding.

Spirit Airlines filed for bankruptcy protection Monday, as mounting losses, unaffordable debt, increased competition for bargain-seeking airline passengers and the inability to merge with other airlines left it little choice. The airline said it will continue to operate as it restructures its debt.

The Transportation Security Administration will soon allow passengers to bring certain large-size liquids in carry-on bags, making exceptions to the 3-1-1 rule that has been in place since the 9/11 attacks. Full size versions of 12 items, including breast milk, liquid medication and aerosol deodorant, will be permitted.
